Secretariat of Border Affairs Denies False Claims on Cambodia-Thailand Border Demarcation

The Secretariat of Border Affairs (SBA) has categorically denied and refuted false information disseminated by the Facebook page “Royal Thai Army: Update” on September 19, 2025. This page falsely claimed that SBA leadership had officially recognized a border line in Phum Prey Chan, specifically between border markers 42 and 43, by misrepresenting documents from the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Survey Team.

The SBA clarified that these documents are merely geographical plans showing the true locations of French-era border markers, not official border demarcation lines. It further stated that the Phum Prey Chan area remains undemarcated, with ongoing negotiations handled by the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Border Committee (JBC). The SBA urged both national and international publics not to believe or share this deceptive and unprofessional news.
