KYIV, Ukraine – A massed attack on Ukraine, reportedly involving drones and missiles, has resulted in at least three fatalities in Kyiv and widespread damage across multiple cities, according to reports on Friday, September 5, 2025. In the capital, a drone strike on an apartment building in the Sviatoshynskyi district killed a young woman and a one-year-old child, while an elderly woman died in a shelter.
Kyiv sustained further damage, with multi-story buildings partially destroyed in the Sviatoshynskyi and Darnytskyi districts, and a government building reportedly on fire in the city center. Elsewhere, infrastructure in Dnipro was damaged by drone attacks.
In Kryvyi Rih, missile and drone strikes hit three locations, injuring three people and damaging transport, urban infrastructure, and one enterprise. Odesa reported damage to civilian infrastructure and residential buildings, with information on casualties still being clarified. Kremenchuk saw a bridge over the Dnipro River damaged, leading to a temporary traffic halt. Zaporizhzhia reported 17 individuals injured from an “enemy attack.” The full extent of casualties and damage continues to be assessed.
