Cambodian National Assembly President Condemns “Jungle Law” and Thai Military Actions at AIPA

At the 46th AIPA General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur, Samdech, President of the National Assembly, strongly urged an end to the use of “jungle law and martial law” beyond national borders, emphasizing its violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He specifically condemned the Thai military’s September 17 attack on Cambodian civilians, injuring over 20, and demanded an immediate cessation of force, the release of 18 illegally detained Cambodian soldiers, and an end to other provocative actions. Stressing the ceasefire’s fragility and the need for mutual trust, he called for international monitoring and an urgent fact-finding mission.

Samdech also advocated for peaceful border demarcation by the Joint Border Commission, guided by existing agreements and International Court of Justice rulings.
