A man in Takhmao City, Kandal Province, Cambodia, surrendered to police early on August 27 after allegedly killing his wife during a domestic dispute. Authorities confirmed the discovery of the victim’s body at the couple’s home.
According to preliminary police reports and an account from the victim’s aunt, the incident occurred around 6:00 AM following a heated argument. The aunt stated that the couple frequently had disputes. On the morning of the incident, the wife, who reportedly worked at a karaoke establishment and was under the influence of alcohol, returned home around 5:50 AM. She allegedly verbally abused her sleeping husband and assaulted him with an electrical wire. The husband reportedly retaliated, leading to a physical altercation during which he pushed his wife into the bathroom, causing her to fall. He then reportedly choked her for approximately one minute until she became unresponsive, after which he fled the scene before surrendering to police.
The suspect is currently in police custody, facing legal proceedings. The couple’s two children, a teenager and a 10-year-old, are now left without parental care. Investigations into the exact circumstances of the death are ongoing.
