PHNOM PENH – Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Aun Pornmoniroth, recently met with a U.S. Congressional Delegation to discuss economic cooperation and future development. During the meeting, he requested technical assistance and support for institutional capacity building from the United States, as Cambodia aims to graduate from its Least Developed Country (LDC) status by 2029.
Deputy Prime Minister Pornmoniroth highlighted the importance of robust international partnerships in achieving Cambodia’s development goals. The U.S. delegation commended Cambodia’s progress in poverty reduction and maintaining stability.
The U.S. representatives further pledged to enhance cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, digitalization, artificial intelligence (AI), and collaborative efforts to combat online fraud. This engagement reflects a mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral economic ties and supporting Cambodia’s developmental trajectory.
